Vintage J&G Meakin Ceramic Saucer – Centenary Series Cutlery far eastern imports started toJ&G Meakin had close family and corporate affiliations to the potteries Johnson Brothers as well as Alfred Meakin which explains the similarity of many of the patterns used on wares from these three manufacturers. J&G Meakin was founded in 18581, while Alfred Meakin wasset up in 1875. In 1968 J&G Meakin was taken over by the Midwinter Group which itself was taken over by the Wedgwood Group in 1970. In 2000 production under the J&G Meakin name ceased.
