This work was inspired by the structure and geometry of a hand crafted chair that was commissioned as part of the New Deal Art project in New Mexico in the 1930s and 1940s. The chair is included in the catalogue of New Deal art in Gallup, NM. All the shapes in this work mimic shapes in the chair.
