The gold frame is so good you couldn't have this sort of work done today (the front that is, the reverse is base metal and quite boring but then that's why its the back!). Even though its only tiny, the more you look at this one, the more that pops out, some of the tesserae are iridescent to show reflection on the water and the main part is framed by small, geometric patterns, then we have the exquisite gold
