This print shows some flames coming from Gesshin Gama (a wood burning kiln in northern Japan)

The steel is a very fine grained stainless steel hardened to about 61HRC

Length: 65mm

The surfaces of each side have been mirrror polished and the spine and choil have been rounded

but have equal (and sometimes better edge retention)
